How to get to Wengen
By plane
Wengen is fortunate to have several international airports relatively close by with the nearest one being Bern with an airport transfer of just 70km. Airport transfers from Geneva or Zurich to Wengen take a little longer at around 2.5 hours
By car
Travelling by car is fairly straightforward as it is motorway practically all the way no matter which direction you are coming from. As a first step, head to Interlaken and then Wengen and Lauterbrunnen which are well sign-posted. Wengen is a car-free resort and only accessible by train during the winter - all cars must be parked at Lauterbrunnen and costs around CHF90 for the week.
Remember to make sure your car shows the tax sticker. This costs CHF40 and can be bought at the border controls, petrol stations and post offices.
By train
Both Grindelwald and Lauterbrunnen are within 2 ½ hours by train from Geneva, Basel and Zurich and 1 ½ hours from Bern. Wengen is a further 15 – 30 minutes from Lauterbrunnen.
