Ordino-Arcalis Ski resort guide & reviews Ski area, apres-ski, things to see & do

Ordino is a high alpine village in the duty free country of Andorra within the Pyrenees mountains. It is part of the ski area now marketed as Vallnord which includes Pal and Arinsal although Ordino's ski area - Arcalis - is not linked so you need to take the bus or hire a car.

Ordino is one of the few villages in Andorra that has kept it's charm without being invaded by huge hotels, mass tourism and the never ending coming and going of coaches. It lies in a National Park - an area of amazing beauty and often referred to as the flower garden.

Après-ski

Après-ski in Ordino is fairly lively with 8 bars and restaurants and plenty of great food - a selection of tapas is a favourite après-ski nibble! One thing to remember though if you plan on eating in restaurants is that they tend not to get busy until around 10pm which is the norm in this part of the world.

Ordino-Arcalis ski area guide

The skiing in Vallnord is spread across 2 areas covered by 1 lift pass. Arcalis is the ski area closest to the resort of Ordino and is where the better intermediates and advanced skiers and boarders head to due to the steeper terrain and good off-piste. The base lift stands at an impressive 1940m.

The other ski area is just 5kms away and includes the villages of Arinsal and Pal which are connected by a cablecar. The pistes are perfect for beginnesr and early intermediate skiers and boarders with some fantastic trails through the pine forests.
