Ski holidays in Stubai - just 30 minutes drive from Innsbruck and is one of Austria's most beautiful valleys just over the Brenner pass from Italy and home to several very traditional and authentic alpine villages.
However, don't be fooled by it's quaintness! Stubai punches well above it's weight when it comes to the skiing and apres-ski - relaxed and fun is how we would describe it.
The Stubai Glacier Valley has the villages of Neustift, Fulpmes, Telfes, Meiders and Schönberg dotted around its floor. Of these, only Neustift and Fulpmes have individual ski schools and ski areas.
Wellness & spa
Stubai has a sophisticated wellness & spa centre with an outdoor thermal springs pool to relax in - quite similar to Leukerbad.
Children
On the Stubai glacier, children are well looked after with the "Big Family" creche at the Gamsgarten mountain station taking kids from the age of 3 where they can play with handicrafts, painting and playing inside or outside in the snow.
There is also the "Big Family Ski Camp" next door which is a secure area where kids from the age of 4 can learn to ski.

Fulpmes & Stubai Valley Ski Area
Ski holidays in Fulpmes - Stubai Glacier are about combining the winter sports activities with relaxation and wellbeing. The whole valley offers 140km of piste covering the ski areas of:
- Schlick 2000 just above Fulpmes
- Elfer above Neustift
- Mieders, and
- Stubai glacier which is the main area with 110km of slopes including 50km of green & blue pistes and 32km for intermediates
Beginners
For the complete beginner, there are some excellent nursery slopes at Fulpmes and the Neustift villages with gentle open slopes that are ideal for learning the basics.
Intermediate
Most of the terrain throughout the Stubaital valley are geared towards intermediates with long open pistes that are great for carving. There is also the fun park on the glacier to try a few new tricks.
Advanced
For the advanced skier there are a few blacks but most of the fun is off the piste and on the 20km of trails. If you are thinking of doing this on the glacier, it is essential you take a guide.
Cross-country
In total there is about 100 km of cross-country skiing tracks from beginner to expert in the Stubai Valley. On the glacier, there are 2km of high-altitude cross-country tracks (skating).
Snowboard
A natural fun park is available for snowboarders in the Schlick 2000 Ski Centre. There is also plenty for snowboarders on the Stubai Glacier including the snowboard fun park with it's table-top and quarter-pipe.
Other ski holiday activities
If you don't fancy skiing or boarding, there are plenty of other activities to keep you busy including:

- Snowshoeing
- Winter walking trails
- Paragliding
- Leisure centre with indoor swimming pool, waterslide, sauna, steam bath and bowling
Après-ski
Fulpmes can be as lively or as relaxing as you want to make it with several good bars and restaurants to relax in. Probably the best way to describe the après-ski is typical Austrian with Tyrolean style "knees up" evenings which people tend to enjoy.
