Canazei is the main village in the Val di Fassa surrounded by towering peaks of the Dolomites. The local ski area of Val di Fassa / Carezza also includes the resorts of Campitello and Moena and together, provide 120km of pistes of which 87km are red, 24km blue / green and 9km black, all serviced by 59 lifts.
Further down the main valley, there is another ski area called the Tre Valli incorporating the town of San Pellegrino giving a further 100km of pistes and 26 lifts. The area is huge and you'll definitely need your piste map to find your way around.
Canazei is also part of the Dolomiti Superski, the world's largest ski carousel giving a massive 1220km of pistes over 12 resorts under one lift pass - touring outside of the local area and on to the carusel is the time when the piste map becomes your best friend!
One of the best loved days out is the 24km tour of the Sella Ronda. You join the circuit in Canazei and can go clockwise or anti-clockwise with the whole tour normally takeing a full day.
