Lake Achensee

Visit the beautiful Lake Achensee, just 40 minutes drive from Innsbruck. the lake is 400m above the main Inn valley and is 9.4km long and 1km wide with an average water temperature of 27 degrees during the summer. The main village of Maurach is full of pleasant cafes and restaurants and you can take a boat and explore the lake. To reach Lake Achensee, there is steam cog railway - well worth the ride.

Kitzbuhel

The world famous town of Kitzbühel is a great day out from Alpbach. Its main pedestranised street is full of chic boutiques, cafes, bars and fantastic restaurants. You can also take the cable car to the top of the Kitzbühelhorn for some panoramic views of the surrounding mountains and valleys.
