Steamboat mountain ski resort guide & reviews

Overview

Home to Olympic medal winner and Stetson-sporting Billy Kidd, Steamboat is the ultimate 'Wild West' ski resort and the atmosphere in the village and on the slopes reflects it.

Après-ski

Lively and fun is a good way to describe the apres-ski. The Bear River Bar and Grill in Gondola Square is a popular starting place and with live bands playing on the lower slopes on a Friday afternoon to get the parties started and the Tbar is a local on-snow favorite. The next stop is one of the bars in downtown Steamboat Springs.

Steamboat has over 100 restaurants and bars with cuisine ranging from American to international flavours such as Chinese, Japanese, Italian and Mexican - there is something for every budget and taste including several fine dining options.

For dancing, Levelz Nightclub in the Mountain Village is the best place with live bands and DJs every night.

Skiing around the 4 mountain peaks is tailor made for intermediate skiers especially around some of the tree trails that get filled with powder after a good dump. One of the best areas is around the top of the Sunshine chairlift where there are intermediate trails coming off in every direction.
