Sitting on a 4km long peninsula at the bottom of Lake Garda, Sirmione is one of the busiest and liveliest resorts on the lake and has been a popular tourist magnet for centuries.

With it's magnificent Scaligero castle, Roman Grotto of Catullus and famous thermal waters used in the resort spas, Sirmione has a lot to offer without travelling far.

In the evenings, Sirmione is buzzing with the nightly ritual "passeggiata" followed by drinks and dinner in one of the many excellent cafes, wine bars and restaurants.

Things to see and do

• Climb to the top of Castello Scaligero for some breathtaking views of the lake and mountains
• Speedboat around the peninsula and see the splenour of Sirmione from the waters
• Not to be missed is some pampering in the luxurious Aquaria spa with it's thermal waters
• During the winter, a one hour drive north takes you in to the Brenta Dolomites where you can go skiing in Pinzolo and the linked resort of Madonna di Campiglio

Our view on Sirmione

Sirmione is a fantastic holiday destination any time of year and a good place to use as a base for exploring the other lakeside villages. Excellent value, good stock of cafes, bars and restaurants and plenty to see and do for your lakes & mountains holiday.
