Skiing in Ruka is something you wont forget - the scenery is just spectacular. The Ruka piste map shows just 20km of piste with gentle beginner areas and long blue runs making it a great family ski resort.

For a bit of fun, the woods around Kelo are definitely worth checking out and skiing the famous Pirunkuru.

For advanced skiers, the terrain around Kelo is the place to head to. The top part of this slope is a good warm up before the steeper part down the bottom.

However, skiing in Ruka is more than just the pistes - there is a whole wilderness waiting to be explored either on touring skis or on a snowmobile safari.
