How to get to Riksgransen

Getting to the world's most northern ski resort is fairly easy whether you are coming by plane, train or car. The only real difference is the amount of time it takes!

By plane

Ski holidays in Riksgränsen - the nearest Swedish airport is Kiruna which you can fly direct to from Stockholm. Once at Kiruna, the transfer to Riksgränsen takes around 1 hour 50 minutes.

You can fly from Oslo to Evenes Airport (shared by the towns of Narvik and Harstad) with Norwegian Airlines. From Evenes airport, the transfer to Riksgränsen is just 86km taking just over an hour and to Björkliden is 114 km.

By car

Drive north on the E4, turn left at Töre and then take the E10 to Kiruna and Narvik. You will find us just before the Norwegian border.

By train

If you have time, we think the best way to get to Riksgränsen is by direct train from either Stockholm or Gothenburg as the scenery is spectacular. You board the train in the evening and 18 hours later, you are right in the centre of Riksgränsen.

If you are thinking about travelling by train, you could buy the Arctic Circle Pass that runs fro Kiruna and Narvik in Norway. There are 10 stops on the journey and you can hop on and off at any of the 10 stops. For example, you could spend a day at Abisko and visit one of Europe’s oldest national parks. Björkliden is another popular destination from where it’s possible to make a day hike to Låktatjåkko Mountain Lodge, Sweden’s highest located mountain lodge.
