Resort Reviews

Ski holidays in Notre Dame de Bellecombe - a traditional and picturesque ski resort with 185km of linked pistes that are ideal for beginner and intermediate skiers and excellent for families.

The emphasis in Notre Dame de Bellecombe is definitely on the family. There is a laidback atmosphere and lots of facilities for families, especially during school holiday periods, where there are activities and events every day.

Après-ski

In Notre Dame de Bellecombe, there are plenty of good standard restaurants to last you for a week and several bars for early après ski. However, if you are looking for a wild party - nightclub scene then you will be disappointed. This really is a family resort

Notre Dame de Bellecombe ski area

If you're looking for a family friendly ski resort, Notre Dame de Bellecombe is an ideal choice. The resort is part of the Val d'Arly and the larger Espace Diamant collection of linked ski resorts. The Val d'Arly is made up of:

Praz sur Arly

Flumet

Crest-Voland Cohennoz

Les Saisies et Hauteluce

...and together provide 185km of pistes, 87 lifts and 146km of cross country skiing.

If you can stop gawping at the stunning views of the Mont Blanc chain long enough to get some skiing in, you'll find that there are loads of tree runs, wide open pistes and the odd challenging steep. With so much terrain to explore, even the most accomplished skier will be hard pushed to cover every inch of the area on a weeks ski holiday in Notre Dame de Bellecombe.

Beginners

Notre Dame de Bellecombe is a great resort if you are starting out for the first time. Lots of wide greens and blues on both sides of the resort will get you touring around in no time.

Intermediate

Intermediate skiing is what Notre Dame de Bellecombe is all about and we can heartily recommend the pistes around the Mont Lachet and Les Saisies areas.

It's also really easy to move around the areas included in the basic Notre Dame de Bellecombes lift pass, so you can start the morning in the resort and head over towards any of the other linked areas for lunch and then continue touring - just make sure you leave enough time to get back.

Advanced

Notre Dame de Bellecombe is not known as a mecca for the expert skier and does not have a reputation for serious off piste.

However, search a little bit and you will find that secret stash of powder over on the Les Saisies side and down towards Chard du Beurre through the trees if you are touring around that area.

Notre Dame de Bellecombe is often in the shadow of neighbouring heavyweight resorts, but little old Notre Dame de Bellecombe deserves to be in the spotlight as a fantastic destination for families who want easy access to the resort, extensive piste skiing with stunning views of Mont Blanc and good facilities for all.

If you like Notre Dame de Bellecombe...then also worth looking at are the resorts of Les Contamines and Maria Alm in Austria which is part of the huge Ski Amade system covering 25 resorts.
