Resort Review
Niederau is a small resort in the stunning Wildschönau valley in the Austrian Tyrol. Known for being family friendly, it is a charming and authentic alpine village where people have been skiing down the north facing slopes on the Lanerköpfl and Markbachjoch mountains since 1947.
Après-ski
Niederau attracts all ages and there are many lively bars catering for the younger crowd who like to party - the local Krautinger Schnapps made from turnips has to be tried at least once! For late night entertainment, there is the Cave Bar nightclub under the Hotel Staffler.

Beginners
The local skiing in Niederau gives you plenty of gentle beginner areas and blue pistes. The 8 seater gonndola from the town center takes you up to Markbachjoch at 1,500m which is next area to try after the nursery slopes.
Intermediate
The whole local ski area is geared towards intermediate skiers and if you like touring, head to Auffach where you can ski over to Alpbach.
Advanced
For the advanced skier, the local ski area is quite limited although the Hochberg or the Stöck and Sixtwiese ski routes through the woods are challenging.Auffach is just a 15 minutes away via the free ski bus which opens up some great off-piste areas linking in to Alpbach and is the starting point for several ski tours.
Snowboard
For snowboarders, there are 3 terrain parks across the Ski Juwel area featuring rainbow boxes, moguls hills, easy kickers, straight boxes and more.
Cross country
The Niederau area offers 50km of cross-country ski trails that cater for everyone, from occasional skiers to pros.

The “Wörgler Wasserwelt” is a fantastic waterpark just 5 minutes drive from Niederau. There is an adventure pool with slides, tubing and pirate ship plus an excellent spa & wellness area that includes jet loungers, sauna and whirlpool.
Children
Bobo's kids club teaches children from the age of 3 to ski. There is a magic carpet, ski carousel and slide plus every week, Childre's' Olympics are help on the nursery slopes with prizes. For children too young to ski, there is a mini club with day care.
