How to get to Meribel
By plane & airport transfer
Meribel, as with all the resorts in Les 3 Vallees, is fortunate to have several major airports that are between 2 and 3 hours away although airport transfers from Chambery to Meribel is the quickest being around 1 hour. Other airport transfer times to Meribel are:
- 75 mins - Grenoble
- 120 mins - Lyon
- 195 mins - Geneva
By car
If you are driving, the gateway to Meribel is Moûtiers at the entrance to the Tarentaise Valley and just 18kms from the resort. The drive time from Calais is between 9 and 10 hours and is practically motorway all the way although be prepared to pay around £70 each way in road tolls. If you dont mind a much longer drive, you can choose to drive on the more scenic and toll-free D-roads.
By Train
Eurostar operates the snow train which leaves St Pancras International in London and Ashford in Kent and takes you directly to Moûtiers, Aime-la-Plagne and Bourg-Saint-Maurice. Return trains leave from Moûtiers and Bourg-Saint-Maurice so you’ll need to make your way from Aime-la-Plagne to one of them on your way home.
For Meribel, Moûtiers is the closest train station and there are regular buses and taxis to take you up to the resort with a journey time of approximately 30 minutes.
