The Oukaimeden piste map shows a relatively small ski area with just 20kms of pistes serviced by a few lifts. however, take a guide and the area becomes far more appealing with plenty of back-country options. For even more terrain to explore. heli-skiing is a must and rivals some of the best destinations in the world when conditions are good.

Skiing in the Atlas mountains is variable and really depends, like any other ski resort, on the quality and quantity of snow. Oukaimeden is quite fortunate as the snow conditions tend to be quite similar to those found in the Alps with dry snow on the northern slopes and hard, wet snow on the south, east and west slopes.
