Resort Review

Deep in the Julian Alps within the Triglav national park, Lake Bohinj is Slovenia’s biggest glacial lake and is a major tourist magnet in the summer where you can do various water sports and skate on it during the winter.

The largest village in the area is Bohinjska Bistrica which acts as a base for accessing Lake Bohinj's two main ski resorts of Mount Vogel and Kobla.

skiing in kobla ski resort in slovenia

Beginners

A great resort for beginners with the gentle nursery slopes conveniently situated close to the village. Children are looked after very well with two kindergartens.

The ski kindergarten caters for 3-6 year olds and non-ski kindergarten for 2-6 years.

Intermediate

A small number of red runs can be found on the main skiing areas of Koblabut after a few days, yu will want to explore Vogel at the other end of the lake.

For some fun, there are numerous routes off to the side of the tree lined pistes.

Advanced

Experienced skiers should immediately head for Vogel and then venture to Kranjska Gora. However, if you like speed then a specialty is "Kobla III", a high speed 6km red!

Cross-country

There are some excellent and very pretty cross country trails through the Pokljuka Plateau.
