Kaprun Piste Map Skiing & Snowboarding Ski Area in Kaprun and Kitzsteinhorn Glacier
The Kaprun piste map shows the local ski area on the Maiskogel mountain and Kitzsteinhorn glacier plus the trails around Zell an See. Both ski resorts offer excellent skiing for all levels of skiier and boarder although Kaprun is more suited to intermediates and above.
For off-piste and back-country enthusiasts, the ski area offers an incredible amount of terrain. Ski touring using skins is very popular and the ski tours range from a day to several where you stay in the mountain huts overnight. A popular itineary is from the top of the glacier in to the Niedersill valley.
Summer skiing in Kaprun
The skiing season in Zell am See-Kaprun starts early autumn and extends into early summer on the Kitzsteinhorn glacier where there are some superb runs and the snow cover is usually excellent.
With the top lift reaching up to 3300 on the glacier, Summer skiing is possible in the morning followed by water sports on the lake in the afternoon - this is what summer in this part of Austria is all about!
