Sitting on the Western shore 6km north of Como, Cernobbio is a lovely, tranquil village with winding cobbled streets although during the summer, the town gets very busy as tourists from the other Lake Como resorts come and try to spot George Clooney who lives here.
Cernobbio has many excellent cafes, wine bars and restaurants to dine in overlooking Lake Como and the surrounding mountains. Mount Bisbino rises to 1326m above the town of Cernobbio and there are many hiking routes to the summit although it is far easier to drive to the top!
