How to get to Bad Gastein
Getting to Bad Gastein ski resort is easy whether you are coming by plane, train or car.
By plane
The closest main international airport is Salzburg with transfers to Bad Gastein taking around 90 minutes by car.
By car
The drive to Bad Gastein ski and spa resort is straightforward with motorways nearly all the way there. However, once you hit the B roads in the resort, be prepared to get your snow chains on (snow tyres are a must) as the roads are steep and narrow in places.
Coming from Munich takes around 2 hours as do transfers from Innsbruck. On the approach to Bad Gastein, you need to be on Highway 167 which takes you into the Gastein valley.
By train
All the intercity trains stop at the ski resorts in the Gastein valley including Bad Hofgastein, Dorfgastein and Bad Gastein. From the train stations, you can get a taxi to your accommodation.
