How to get to Avoriaz

By plane

Once you arrive at Geneva airport, the directions to Avoriaz are pretty straight forward being motorway practically all the way. Transfers to Avoriaz take around 90 minutes.

If you can get a flight, the other easy transfer option is to fly in to Sion in Switzerland - again, motorway nearly all the way and this route brings you into the Portes du Soleil area from the Lake Geneva side.

By car

On the Autoroute Blanche motorway (A40), take the Bonneville or Cluses/Scionzier exit (n°18, 30km from Morzine). If you are coming from Switzerland take the Villeneuve exit towards Evian. Once at Morzine, the road climbs 800m to Avoriaz and you must have snow-chains. This last section can become a bottle-neck especially on transfer days or during the French holidays.

By train

High speed trains run to Cluses or Thonon les Bains, 40 km from the resort. From there, regular bus transfers are available.
