There are several Ovronnaz ski schools and ski touring - guide companies each offering a comprehensive ranges of ski and snowboarding lessons for all ages and abilities. The off-piste clinics are very popular as the terrain is blessed with fantastic deep powder stashes especially off the back of Mont Fort and having the technical skills means you can fully enjoy the back-country skiing opportunities.

Ovronnaz Off Piste Ski Guiding & Touring

To experience the full extent of what Ovronnaz has to offer, why not try some guided off-piste ski touring. Expert local guides will navigate you around the high mountain trails in safety taking you on an adventure around the spectacular Mont Fort and La Rosablanche to name a few of the famous descents.

Ski touring takes skiing back to its routes, away from the crowds, in pristine natural beauty surrounded by towering peaks, glaciers and that sense of freedom. The ski tours can be anything from 1 to several days spending the evenings in mountain huts.

Generally, you need to be a good intermediate skier with some experience of skiing off-piste. And if you feel you need some extra skills, the ski schools offer a variety of off-piste clinics and avalanche awareness courses to prepare you.

Here are a couple of popular guided off-piste tours starting from Nendaz ski resort just 40 minutes drive away...

Ovronnaz ski tour off mont fort at 3300m

Mont Fort - Siviez Ski Tour - 1 day

This is one of the classic descents in the 4 Valleys from the top of Mont Fort at 3329m down to Siviez. It is one of the longest trails and delivers 1600m of vertical.

The tour starts by navigating your way from Nendaz to De Tortin and then taking the lift up to Col des Gentianes and onwards to the top of Mont Fort. From here, its deep powder all the way back down to Siviez at 1730m.

La Rosablanche Ski Tour - 1 day

This is also a classic trail and involves using skins to make the ascent up to 3336m. The tour starts by taking the cable car from Siviez up to Col des Gentianes and then heading towards La Chaux at 2706m. From here, its skins up to 2940 before skiing down, via Lac d'Age towards the Grand Desert Glacier. After crossing the glacier, taking care to avoid the crevaces, its a climb to the top of La Rosablanche before the ultimate freeriding experience back down.

The International ski and snowboard school (ESI)in Ovronnaz has a team of professional instructors that provide private and group lessons for all levels of skier and boarder.

From skiing to snowboarding, from telemark to hikes with a professional, ESI ensures excellent quality in the teaching of snow sports.

From beginners starting out for the first time to experts who want to explore the region on a guided ski tour, ESI will always ensure the lessons are fun whilst teaching you new skills.

For children, we offer fun teaching for very young children (from age 3) in the only snow garden in the resort. And, we welcome children to our day care facilities from 10.30 until 1pm.
